Professor Howard Ward’s specialty is HR Strategy, Teamwork and Leadership. He has been a professor at CEIBS since it was founded, specializing in HRM and cross-cultural management for state-owned enterprises and joint ventures. He has been associated with the Manchester Business School since 1982 and has been a Visiting Professor at various business schools in Spain, Italy, and Russia.

Professor Ward has a wide-range of practical management experience, having worked in sales and personnel management for seven years with the Michelin Tire Company in both Britain and France. In China, he has done training and consulting on strategic HR issues for BASF, Maersk, Sony, Hitachi, L’Oréal, Henkel, Kodak, Caterpillar, Bright Dairy & Food, Legend Digital and Daqing Oil Fields.
